Christmas Gift Ideas for Grandparents & Discounts!

22nd November 2014
Is it me, or are grandparents really difficult to find gifts for?

I spent my childhood giving mundane gifts like socks, ties, chocolates and mugs to my grandparents and only now do I realise how boring that must have been for them!

With this in mind, I’ve tried to find more creative, interesting gifts that Chunk can give to his Nanny in particular as she is his most special person!

Retro Sweets
Whenever we visit a small village my mum will hunt down a traditional sweet shop and get her fix of rosey apples, humbugs and bon bons, so I’ve managed to find an online company who can deliver these classics straight to your door!

Bah Humbugs Retro Hamper and Sweet Buckets are fab!

Bah Humbugs is an independent sweet shop in Yorkshire and they’ve been running for ten years. They stock more than 400 sweets, including both classic and modern day sweets. I tried the Retro Hamper which had LOADS of great sweets, and my favourite were Fruit Salads and Acid Candy, and the boys adored the popping candy and Curly Wurly!

Bah Humbugs sell the sweets separately, or they also offer sweet buckets, jars and hampers. (I’m giving away a sweet bucket here by the way!).

These are the perfect stocking fillers for both hard to buy grandparents (find their childhood faves to make it extra special) and children (what child doesn’t like sweets and chocolate?!).

Glam Gardening Equipment

My mother is a bit of a gardener, so I want to pimp up her tools and gardening wear this year!

Briers have a Historic Royal Palaces range which is both good quality and fashionable in my humble, non-gardener experience.

Some of the Briers’ Historic Royal Palaces Range

This Historic Royal Palaces range was inspired by all the English royal palaces such as Kensington Palace and Kew Palace. There are three designs which are each featured on wellington boots, rubber clogs, gardening gloves, kneelers and even cotton bags to carry your tools in.

They can be bought from DIY stores such as B&Q and Wilkinsons and also some garden centres and fashion outlets.

Food and Accessories

Degustaboxes
I’ve reviewed a couple of these Degustabox boxes over the last few months and I continue to be impressed with them, and what’s better is that they are currently selling them for half price, so a just over £6 you are getting a huge box of goodies to enjoy with your family.

This month’s included some gorgeous Brioche buns and bread, Blue Dragon sauces, Special K crisps and much more..

As well as being half price, my readers can also get a great discount using this code: 1BVOZ

Easy Lock, What If? Puzzle and Ozeri Pepper Mill

Pepper Mills

The Ozeri Savore Electric Pepper Mill and Grinder is a rather cute, sleek grinder that would look good on anybody’s kitchen side. It has a rather clever mechanism that helps it to season food evenly and grinds just by you pressing a button…simple!

Gadgets

Easy Locks are lightweight, easy to use, strong temporary door locks and I’m giving one away!

They are great for when you go away on holiday and want to ensure a bit more security in your hotel room, or even in your own home if you rent and want peace of mind that nobody also has a key to let themselves in.

To be in with a chance to win one of these locks in the colour pink, head to my competition page here.

Lighting

Fancy a more elegant gift? How about a set of lights that you can choose the colours for to match their home?

See my review of Cable and Cotton lights here.

Puzzles

The What If? Santa & Rudolph 1000 Piece Puzzle makes a great stocking filler for any grandparents that love to relax with a good puzzle. I remember helping my grandad to complete these puzzles when I was a little girl, and even as a teenager I found it relaxing to sit in front of the TV and complete a puzzle over a period of a few days during the school holidays!

This festive puzzle by Ravensburger has a lot of detail so it will take you a little while to complete unless you are a pro!
Feel free to see my other Adult Christmas Gift Guide for more inspiration too!

All of these products were given to me for the purpose of review. No payment was received and all opinions are honest and my own.
