I tend to spend a lot of time visiting family and friends and as they will tell you I tend to stay there for a fair few hours! Part of this is to get Chunk out and socialising with others (and to burn some of his energy) and the other part is so I actually have socialising time.
At times this can lead to us staying the night (unplanned) or at times we will have to help people out as an emergency. There are even occasions where I just want to prepare him for bed before we go home, because I know he will fall asleep on the way home so it’s just then a case of putting him into his bed.
My brain is still pretty hopeless since the birth of Chunk so I tend to forget to be organised, so I love that there is now a company that sells overnight bags full of the types of things I forget!
Emergency Overnight Bags sell just this: bags to suit each emergency or situation.
These include ones for women which contain things like tights, a hairbrush, make up wipes, cleanser, moisturiser,sanitary towels and even condoms and nurofen for period pain!
There is a child’s emergency overnight bag which included colouring books, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, bathing products and even a woolly hat and socks.
I was impressed by the amount of useful things that were in each bag, and the majority of items were good brands, such as Aussie Miracle, Durex, Oral B toothpaste and Dove wash products. These bags would cost £12.99 and for the amount of items you get I think this is a really good price.
These bags were the brainchild of another mum who had adult children visit her regularly without any of their essentials. These bags can stay in the car so that you can use them on the spur of the moment, such as at work, at the gym or in my case we leave them at my mum’s house which is where we tend to go the most!

Good idea if you know you might get visitors that will stay unexpectedly.
