Upcycling: Spiderman Chest of Drawers
As you may remember a little while ago I upcycled some chest of drawers using Marvel Comic characters for Chunk, and I’ve finally gotten around to upcycling his other set.
This time I focussed solely on Spiderman, because Chunk is quite into this character at the moment.
It was quite easy, all I needed was some PVA glue, wallpaper samples, paint brushes, scissors and Clear Sealant by Rustoleum.
Step One
Measure out the drawer sizes and the side panels and cut out pieces of wallpaper of these sizes. I also cut out some individual Spiderman pictures from the offcuts to add to the top of the unit.
Step Two
Unscrew the handles from each drawer and make sure all of the surfaces are smooth.
Step Three
Apply PVA glue to one piece of paper at a time and stick them onto the chest of drawers. Make sure you smooth it out with a brush as much as possible to reduce air bubbles. Thankfully for the drawers I used a wallpaper border, so it already had a sticky back!

Step Four
Add a little PVA over the top of the paper and wait for it to dry.
Step Five
Brush Clear Sealant onto all of the papered areas to protect them
Step Six
Once completely dry, screw the handles back on.
Easy or what?!

I love this and it looks very simple to do. Did you mix your PVA glue with water?

Hi Melody, no I didnt use water because I was using thick wallpaper so wanted it to be strong.
I water down PVA for decoupage projects though!
