I don’t know what it is, but now that Chunk is much more aware of what Christmas is and who Santa is, it seems to have given me the Christmas “feeling” that I used to get as a child! For the first time in a long time I have got that special tummy feeling when I have watched the classic Christmas films, I’ve loved making Christmas decorations with him, and I have gone a bit OTT on decorating the flat, with even my toilet Santa proudly on show! I even attempted to use spray can snow on the windows with templates and that was certainly interesting! Some bits worked, but others were a bit smudgy and the can ran out pretty quick (probably due to me not shaking it well to begin with). Smiggle Advent Calendar Chunk has a chocolate advent calendar that our neighbour kindly bought him, but he also has an activity calendar from Smiggle which features toys and stationary for each day, which I think is a much better, fun way to countdown to Christmas (and far healthier!). This has inspired me already for next year to get (or make) little toys and gifts as an alternative to chocolate calendars. I was sent this rather gorgeous wooden Christmas tree advent calendar from Stocking Fillers, and it has a little pull-out drawer for each day, so this will be great for next year’s plans! Gorgeous Wooden Advent Calendar for Treats Because it’s wooden, it’s going to hopefully last for many years and become one of our little family traditions. I’m sure you will see posts next Christmas about my advent gift ideas! Chunk received a cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle bauble in the post along with a card, which took me back to my youth (Donatello was always my favourite). This has taken pride of place on our tree and every now and then it will disappear as Chunk decides to open it to play with his #halfshellheroes turtle! #HalfShellHeroes Bauble and Card Have you made or bought any quirky decorations this year? Would love to see them! I was sent these products to test and review. No payment was received and all opinions are honest and my own.  Follow me on Twitter, Pinterest or Facebook
