How To Make A Christmas Star

16th December 2014
As you know I went to a craft event last week which was held by DryNites and hosted by BBC2 Giant British Sewing Bee finalist Tamara Melvin.During the event, my son and I got to make a Christmas Stocking which I have  posted a tutorial about, and we also made a Christmas Star for our window.

This is a really quick, easy thing to make which toddlers can help with so it’s a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

All I had to do was cut out a star template on some black card, and then we stuck some coloured laminate paper onto some white tissue paper (which also had the star template drawn onto it), before sticking the black template onto the tissue paper and laminating it.

I then cut the laminated star out and used a hole punch to make a hole that can allow it to be hung up.

Our Star and Yummy Lunch!

I’m planning to make some other shapes such as a tree, angel and Santa as Chunk had a lot of fun sticking the colours onto the tissue paper. They look gorgeous when the sun shines through the window too!

After we finished our stars we got treated to a gorgeous lunch by DryNites as you can see in the photograph. My favourite was the wine and Chunk’s was the huge chocolate cakes!

No payment was received for this post and all opinions are honest and my own.
