    9th September 2022

What a few weeks...Just as I come on here to exp What a few weeks...Just as I come on here to explain my quietness and try to start posting again at the start of September, it all crumbled yet again spectacularly!I won't bore you with it all, but it's safe to say it's been really rough and isn't getting any easierI miss the little sleep I used to get as this is dwindling further, I've been dealing with my mum in and out of hospital with worsening conditions, new school stresses, coparenting trickness and so much more 😩And whilst I'm still in the thick of it, it's now half term so thought I'd come on and show my faceIt's #adhdawarenessmonth and I've not posted once for my community and for that I'm sorryIn this day and age its still badly stereotyped and many people have zero clue how difficult it can be to live with neurodivergent brain wiring in a neurotypically designed society, so I will always be open about my experience to help raise awareness and reduce stigma on @mindvoxpodMy adhd and asc are currently in battle amidst a burnout while juggling complex life issues, but if anyone wants to chat with a late diagnosed I'm always here, even if it does take me a few days to get back to you 💚
ad|gifted~ GHOST STORIES FOR HALLOWEENAs I've g ad|gifted~ GHOST STORIES FOR HALLOWEENAs I've gotten older I've really started to enjoy HalloweenAs a kid it wasn't celebrated as much apart from trick or treating, but the UK have really opened up to celebrating it since my son was little, so we've been able to enjoy decorating pumpkins, Halloween crafts, movies and books. We've been kindly sent this brand new book by @alexsmartauthor to enjoy this Halloween. The book features 20 spooky stories aimed at readers aged 9-12 and can even be read at bedtime because whilst they're scary, they all have happy endings too!I'm looking forward to blanket snuggles, hot chocolate and reading this book together during half-term next week- what will you be doing for Halloween with your family?Get the book using the link in my stories in the Book highlight section.#halloweenkids

Today is Suicide Prevention Day, which inspired me Today is Suicide Prevention Day, which inspired me to do this post to raise awareness, but to also show my appreciation for still having this man on Earth.I nearly lost the love of my life this way, and that fear and pain never leaves you.Thankfully the attempt failed, and since then so many good memories have been created as you can see on this reel, and the thought that these nearly never happened is terrifying. We need more awareness of how to support those who get to the stage of not feeling able to be here anymore, to try and prevent the many who sadly end their lives on a daily basis. It's not attention seeking or manipulation, it's pain and exhaustion of trying to cope and get through each day. Whether it's trauma, mental health episodes, long term stress, feeling like they've failed, there's so many reasons a person can get to this point, and for some reason society assumes people aren't genuine when they get the courage to speak up. The majority who say they feel this way, really do, so how to help?Don't judge as you don't know what's going on for them.
Listen and be there for them.
Suggest they talk to specialists in this area like their doctor, @mindcharity or @samaritanscharityResearch ways to support them as best you can via the above organisations tagged.#suicidepreventionday2023 #suicidepreventionday #suicidepreventionmonth #suicideprevention #MentalHealthMumDay #worldsuicidepreventionday

I took photos like you would have done, I cried loudly in fields and I baked you a cake with my son.

The slightly smug look of a proud mama today 😊 The slightly smug look of a proud mama today 😊Today I had a lovely surprise as my 11 year old son decided he wanted to take me to the cinema to see @barbiethemovie as he knew how much I've always loved Barbie. (Was my childhood special interest and way to explore my feelings in a play therapy way on reflection). He said if I was lucky he'd even buy lunch (😅). I asked him not to as didn't want him using his pennies but he refused for me to pay even for a burger. He sat through a film he really didn't want to see that was all about feminism and patriarchy (which I hope has helped start the learning around this for him) and he was great.Did hide his face with a hood, sunglasses and scarf face covering in case anyone spotted him going into the movie though 🤣He even did his hair and put cologne on 😊Love him ❤️
Ad~| SPIROGRAPH FUN!I've loved Spirographs since Ad~| SPIROGRAPH FUN!I've loved Spirographs since I was a kid, so jumped at the chance to check out the new Spirograph Mandela Maker from @playmonsteractivitiesuk with my son.It uses the traditional Spirograph rings in the centre of an interchangeable mandala wheel. You can lock your paper into the frame for ease and create lots of fun designs! There are stencils you can also add, and the various rings can create some beautiful patterns 😍You can get the kit from @hobbycrafthq and here is a look at what my son did the first time he tried it.It's so relaxing to do and I love using mandalas to ground myself and reduce my anxiety sometimes so I shall be making some to stick around the house!#wirepr #playmonsteruk #spirograph
If Little Mermaid were rewritten for the Neurodive If Little Mermaid were rewritten for the Neurodivergents 😜This is my change of lyrics to one of my fave songs which is fitting after the sheer exhaustion I feel at trying to keep up with the Neurotypical world at the moment.I'm still isolated, and in some ways that helps my brain, but i do feel like I observe society rather than part of it 😕But I will keep on about AUDHD and hope awareness will grow and positive change will come 🙏#neurodivergentburnout #neurodivergent #audhder #audhd #MentalHealthMumDay #adhdcommunity #adhdadults #ADHDAFarmy #autisticshutdown #neurodivergentfamily
NATURE IS MY THERAPYI hardly post at the moment, NATURE IS MY THERAPYI hardly post at the moment, and it's even been nearly a month since my last podcast episode for @mindvoxpod so it's clear the burnout is getting worseI'm not good with change and we imminently have a transition to secondary school. Coparent sadly doesn't get involved so the appeal, Uniform, transition plans, prepping child etc all come down to my neurodivergent, wiped out brainMix in usual chores of I do for 3 people, my chronic pain, trying to find work and 6 week school holiday for a socially isolated mum and son, the pressure is building! So the socials, pod and blog have been ignored and where possible I've cut out or moved tasks to the future (thanks to past me who has sometimes frozen homemade meals in the last couple months btw)I've struggled with the heat but recently we've found a small, shady (quiet😍) forest area for the dog, where squirrels live in the trees waiting for humans to feed them (can you see one in the 3rd pic? Zoomed in on him on the 4th one🤣)It's amazing how a bunch of trees and seeing my son and dog chilled and free for a few minutes helps during this timeIf only life could be that calm, free and quiet I'd be less of the Pessimist!Hope you're doing better than me 💚#mentalhealthmumday #mumselfcare

It's been a hectic few weeks that led to an outcom It's been a hectic few weeks that led to an outcome on Friday that was both anticipated but also shocking when it was confirmedOther people's privacy is always something I've struggled with when oversharing my own stuff, so I'm still processing it all and working out what remains privateAuDHD Burnout is real after weeks of preparation, panic and procrastinationSilly me for thinking I'd get a chance to recharge after. I forgot that now is where the work truly begins! So this weekend was quiet (like always) and even minimal chores got overlooked (with less of my usual guilt)But the exhaustion Friday eve was another level. I didn't even talk coherently which showed me how overstimulated and burnt out I amThe boy and I painted rocks for my nan and uncle, who I miss always, but at times like this I miss them moreMy uncle was an amazing photographer, it was his passion, so naturally we had to draw cameras! My nan loved flowers, was amazing at keeping them alive and had been a florist at one stage of her career, hence my flower doodleWe put them on their graves and told them the news and it struck me there's hardly anybody I know in the real world anymore to tell any news toI've been quiet on here as I'm tired, but at some point my energy will returnHope you're doing better than me 💚#burnout #mentalhealthmumday #neurodivergentburnout #neurodivergence #neurodivergent #audhd #adhdcommunity #adhdasf #autisticshutdown #actuallyautistic #autisticwomen
