#My3Things Positive Parenting Motivator: Week 6

29th August 2014
As you know #My3Things is my way to try to value myself and my parenting a bit more, so I’ve created this and a linky for other bloggers to join in with too.

Each week I list three things that have not gone so well that week, three things I want to focus on improving next week, and ending the post with three things I’ve done really well. The reason it’s in this order is because you should always end on a positive!

It’s not about telling yourself off, or criticising, it’s about self improvement and recognising the skills and good things about us which we always ignore. Yes it starts by looking at what wasn’t too good, but this is so you can reflect on why these may have gone wrong and then look at how to avoid this next week- we learn from our mistakes!

The linky is to keep me and you guys motivated- thanks to all those who joined in last week and hope to see you again this week!

If you don’t have time to write a post like this, feel free to link up with a post you’ve written this week showing happy parenting times or achievements!

3 Things That Were Not So Good This Week

  • Didn’t handle my son’s face being scratched up by a girl at nursery very well initially!
  • I have been using my phone when playing with Chunk to check work emails.
  • Shouting at Chunk occasionally during his tantrums rather than keeping my cool.

3 Things I Want To Focus On Next Week

  • Carry on working out and eating better.
  • Find some more things for us to do indoors on the rainy days to keep him entertained.
  • Avoiding shouting and keeping my voice low and firm.

3 Things I’ve Done WELL This Week

  • I have managed to finally start exercising and eating a lot less junk and lost 5lbs already!
  • I am spending more little bits of quality time with Chunk and he is responding well to this- took him on a bus for the very first time the other day to go to the Sea Life Centre.
  • I have been a bit more inventive with our dinners now I have a slow cooker.

It's always alarming when another child causes any kind of physical damage to your own – each of my three had similar (thankfully minor) experiences at nursery too.

And slow cookers are great. We bought one about three years ago and it's been brilliantg especially in the winter months. Must remember to use it more!

Matthew has been bitten and scratched, and my daughter too, by oth er children, and it's not a nice feeling, I don't like it at all, and struggle to handle it, so I don't blame you.
Well done on the weight loss and slow cookers are amazing, I love mine!! Sorry bit late to link up, Wifi has been down a lot, and I can't really blog from my phone!

I love my slow cooker but it is very under used! Well done on the weight loss I have still been trying it this week but not weighed in yet? I will try to link up this week but blogging has taken a backseat with the change in my work hours/schedule I am up the wall definitely more organised for next week though x
