Christmas Gift Ideas for Dogs

16th November 2020

Oh yes, my dog gets gifts at Christmas!

How could I create Christmas gift guides for adults and children, but leave the dog out?

If you want to spoil your pooch this year, here’s some ideas:

Food Treats

Throw a Dog a Bone

Throw A Dog A Bone is a great Selby-based business who create some fab gifts for dogs to purchase online. For every product sold they donate 25p to the Pensions 4 Paws charity, which helps keep retired police dogs safe.

The dog food treats they offer are all homemade using local produce where possible, to support other small businesses. Impressively all treats contain no added salt, fats or preservatives and there’s vegan and vegetarian recipes also available.

They have a gorgeous range of Christmas treats this year including the Dog Christmas Advent Calendar, Gourmet Popcorn and Dog Baubles.

The advent calendar features 24 small biscuits and a large one for Christmas Day. Biscuits can be made to order with either Peanut and Mint or Sweet Potato and Charcoal flavours.

Throw A Dog A Bone offer Christmas Bauble Treats for dogs (and also cats) that can be hung on your tree. Each bauble has 20 biscuits of either peanut better, fresh mint, wholemeal flour and egg, or activated charcoal, oats, sweet potato and carrots.

Gourmet Organic Dog Popcorn is a healthy, tasty treat for dogs, and is ideal for training or if they’re on a healthy eating plan. The popcorn comes in a reindeer packaging during Christmas, but is sold all-year round.

Useful Gifts

Welcome To The Family Dog Kit

This is a handy little gift for the new dog in your life.

The Welcome To The Family Dog Kit includes a care guide with useful tips on how to welcome a dog into your family.

There’s also an identification charm, a collar light for walking at night or through fog, and a dog clicker.

Always make sure you consider these points before getting a new dog too.

The clicker helps to train the dog, so each time they do something you like, click it and then give them a treat. This method quickly teaches them that the sound means they’re doing something right!

The items are presented in a small tin, which is also easy to take wherever you go.

Dog Pamper Products

Neve’s Bees Dog Salves

As you know from my Christmas Gift Ideas for Adults, Neve’s Bees are a brilliant UK company who make their own skincare products out of beeswax and sustainably sourced plant oils, butters and essential oils.

Alongside their skincare range they offer products for dogs too, like these Pet Salves.

The pet salves gift box includes ‘lick safe’ paw and nose balms in a recycled card gift box.

The balm soothes dog pads/paws and is great for dry or cracked pads, while the salve gives their noses some TLC especially in the winter months.

Fun Gifts

If you read my Christmas Gift Ideas for Kids recently, you will know how fab Dr Zigs are.

They offer a range of bubble sets for adults, kids and dogs like this Doggie Bubbles set.

Dogs love to chase bubbles, and these ones are peanut butter scented which makes it even more fun for them!

The bubbles are non-toxic, vegan, palm-oil free and contain no nuts.

The set comes in a drawstring bag and includes one litre of peanut butter bubble mix and wands with multi rope to make bubbles of varying sizes.

These are a great training tool, and can give them the mental stimulation they need whilst keeping them active.

No payment was received for this post. All items were gifted and I chose to create a review about them. All opinions are honest and my own.
