    I always make sure doors and windows are locked when we go out, and have a good relationship with my neighbours – we all keep an eye out for each other.

    Door locks. Door chain. Front door spy hole. Tenants / neighbours considerate :- watch and listen, look out for each other and neighbourhood in regards to safety etc.

    I live in a flat where security is quite good but apart from that I have a dog. She's only a little westie but she's got a big bark.

    ive got a dog hes soft as a brush but hes a staffie so most people think twice =) but then other things with my having 3 little ones stair gates, plug covers, door chains on so they cant escape the mad house =)

    I have window alarms, you stick them on and if the window is moved up it sounds a very loud alarm. My door only has one lock so I am very vigilant.

    Sometimes your local council offers free safety checks and then if you qualify (usually OAP households) they'll come round and fit fire alarms, stair rails, safety locks on doors and windows, they even put a mirror next to our front door so we could see who's calling even with the chain attached to the door. Feel safe and sound now 🙂

    just locking doors really. really should do more to protect our home. i was broken into years ago and it did make me very security consious for years. but i moved house last year and havent got the money yet to beef up security yet
