#My3Things Positive Parenting Motivator: Week 5

22nd August 2014
As you know #My3Things is my way to try to value myself and my parenting a bit more, so I’ve created this and a linky for other bloggers to join in with too.

Each week I list three things that have not gone so well that week, three things I want to focus on improving next week, and ending the post with three things I’ve done really well. The reason it’s in this order is because you should always end on a positive!

It’s not about telling yourself off, or criticising, it’s about self improvement and recognising the skills and good things about us which we always ignore. Yes it starts by looking at what wasn’t too good, but this is so you can reflect on why these may have gone wrong and then look at how to avoid this next week- we learn from our mistakes!

The linky is to keep me and you guys motivated- thanks to all those who joined in last week and hope to see you again this week!

If you don’t have time to write a post like this, feel free to link up with a post you’ve written this week showing happy parenting times or achievements!

3 Things That Were Not So Good This Week

  • Being a bit behind in my work which has resulted in this linky being nearly one week late!
  • Not being a good girl with my sleeping, so I have been a little irritable during the day.
  • Shouting at Chunk occasionally during his tantrums rather than keeping my cool.

3 Things I Want To Focus On Next Week

  • Getting my healthy eating on track.
  • Finishing my latest piece of work so I can concentrate on this blog and some fitness.
  • Avoiding shouting and keeping my voice low and firm.

3 Things I’ve Done WELL This Week

  • I have managed to utilise my time without Chunk well this week, ensuring I have got as much work done as possible.
  • I am spending more little bits of quality time with Chunk and he is responding well to this.
  • I got Chunk christened this week and it reminded me just how special he is to me.

Great post. Good fo ryou for focusing on keeping your toen of voice in check. I have written a post about things I like about myself and also listed three thigns I did well this week, but I cannot link it up here because this inlinkz thingy is inaccessible to my screen reader. Maybe can I suggest using the new inlinkz code, the one where people can also select an image to go with their submission? Also is this linky open to parents only?

What a great idea for a linky! Looks like you have had a really good week with chunk this week! I too am working on my healthy eating right now too! I hope you get your sleeping sorted I know how feel with a lack of sleep I get like that a lot too if I don't get enough sleep, I have cut out caffeine and that seems to be helping me lately x

Seems like we both need to get more sleep! It's amazing what an effect grabbing those few extra minutes of "me time" costs us the next day. I am trying to find a bit of time during the day rather than later at night. Still looking though so far….! Have a great week xx
