#PoCoLo Linky Now Open!
Click here for my linky |
I’m a single parent of a 2 year old, hyper, boy I call Chunk and I write Confessions of a Single Parent Pessimist about life, home and parenting. This also features my new linky #My3Things.
This is one of the easiest links EVER. You don’t have a ‘special theme’ to have to write about, the post can be personal, sponsored, a photo, a review, a competition, your own linky, something you’ve linked to a linky….WHATEVER you like – it’s one you’ve already written this week! If you want some publicity and attention, then you are in the right place!
Please make sure you go across and comment on at least two other linkers posts. Linkys work if everyone supports each other 🙂 then spread the #PoCoLo about this link up on Twitter. The post you link up has to have been written in the last week. The link will go up every Friday at 6.30am and close on Sunday evening at 8pm.
The ‘About Me’ special is still open to join until April 2015 – so if you are new then it is a great place to introduce yourself and it is also a great resource to find out about your fellow bloggers.
Don’t forget our #SoFoLo community on Google + and our #PoCoLo Facebook group where you can come and post your PoCoLo post for some more shares as well as any of your social media accounts of yours that need more followers.
Vicky has a list for the Newbie Showcase running into June 2015. If you would like to be featured then please email her at [email protected] so she can put you on the rota. Remember, your blog needs to be under a year old to feature from the time of sending your email to her.
Newbie Showcase
This week’s newbie is the lovely Jenny, who writes Let’s Talk Mommy.
Hi, I’m Jenny, a 30 year old, American mommy, married to a handsome Englishman, Mr. P., whom I met while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. When I was 23 years old I moved to the UK for love, there our fantasy love story began and two beautiful children were made: Buba, 2 years old, and Missy Moo, 6 months old.
I have wrote my first novel, “When Love & Culture Collide”, highly based on my own experiences of falling in love and living in a country with a language barrier and cultural differences.
I started blogging because my writing was out of practice and my brain felt like it was going to mush not working. I love writing but time was against me with two small children. Writing my novel took hours upon hours a day to concentrate and invest into characters, plots, and story lines. I didn’t have the luxury anymore.
I thought blogging would be a great way to share and practice my writing in small time frames such as nap-time or after kids were in bed. I also started it as there is such a huge sense of community and support in the blogging world. It really has blown me away how much bloggers help one another. We aren’t all competing, we are in this together. I love that. I don’t know many people in this country even after six plus years.
I decided to do a parenting blog (mommy blog) because my children are still, first and foremost, my main priority and most things I do, involves them. I also wanted to include lifestyle in my blog, because I have other passions such as fashion, spas, travelling, poetry, shopping, dining out, cooking, reading, etc. My life didn’t stop when I had children, it just got better and more full therefore my tagline became … a parenting and lifestyle blog. Not catchy or very original but it states the facts.
My first blog, ” Starting my blog” went up September 6, 2013, I had just given birth to my daughter, Missy Moo, 10 weeks prior. Starting a blog with a newborn and a toddler in potty training, I don’t know what I was thinking. My first post is almost embarrassing but I can’t bring myself to delete it, as it was my first! I didn’t know much about blogging or even the difference between a post or a page but I dove in head first and prayed I could swim. My first post was more of a statement, it had no topic in mind. I felt I had to justify my future blog content before there was even anything written. I haven’t had a good track record of family and friends’ support in the past so I was petrified, if they didn’t love or support my writing, why would total strangers?
We have just moved to a new area in Lancashire, we have previous been living in Manchester now we are further north. It’s rainy and cloudy here, but not much different from Seattle in the USA, my hometown.
I am obsessed with social media, new to it all but instantly hooked.
You can come join the fun and follow me on Twitter or on Facebook and for the more enthusiastic fans, I am also on Instagram. I love all blogs and love to interact with everyone. I am friendly, fun, and an OTT, loud American that just wants to share everything with the world!!
