My 2015 Jar

4th January 2015
Happy new year guys!

Hope you all had a lovely, food-filled, tantrum free (or reduced) Christmas. I had a lovely time and as usual it was over before I had time to sit and enjoy my boozy Christmas cake.

This is the time of year that you hear everyone going on about “New Year New You” stuff which I used to be into, but now I realise that you will change when you are ready.

Amazingly I actually do want to change at the moment, so it’s kinda nice that it coincides with the new year! I want to be a lot more positive about myself, my body and my life, so I’m looking at ways to be healthier, more active and also ways to see things differently.

My 2015 Jar and the Idea Behind It (Bottom Left)

So when I came across a photo on Facebook about yearly jars, I loved it and have made my own one.

Basically the idea is that each year you get an empty jar and fill it throughout the year with anything positive, from achievements, funny moments, gifts you are given, to little memories of your children that you don’t want to forget. At the end of the year, you can then open it and read all the great things that have happened during that year.

This is going to help me so much, because I tend to assume sometimes that I’ve had a bad year if there have been a few difficult things that happen, so I forget that it’s not all bad, there are actually some lovely times I have that have been pushed aside and forgotten.

This ensures I remember these good times and all of the things my son and I achieve, so it will give me a great, positive and motivated start to each year!

It’s only been a few days, but already it is filling up, and it’s been an eye opener to see how many good things there are each day that tend to go unnoticed, so this is definitely something I’m going to be doing every year from now on!.

Do you do anything to help you stay positive? Would love to hear what they are…

This sounds like such a lovely idea. I'm doing the same, but I'm taking a picture of something positive everyday. I can dwell on the negatives too much sometimes!

I hope you have a wonderful and blessed 2015 🙂

I keep meaning to start this every year but I keep forgetting. I've got a spare kilner jar so I know what I'm doing with it now xx
