Diet Chef: Week 1

25th September 2014
As you are WELL aware I’ve been up and down with my weight for most of my life, and this has escalated since being a single mum.

Recently I have started to do a little exercise again which has been great as I had forgotten how great the endorphins can feel afterwards, and this has spurred me on to start sorting out the old eating habits.

I recently heard about Diet Chef and liked how they send you your three meals and a snack already prepared each day, meaning the temptation to make large portions or to choose junk food snacks are eliminated. This sounded perfect to me, because large portions and evening snacking is my downfall at the moment and is why I am deeply unhappy with my weight.

So Diet Chef kindly agreed to send me a 28 day package to see how I got on and I have just completed my first week.

A lot of low fat foods and companies I have used in the past have tended not to work mainly because I haven’t thought much of the taste (or lack of taste) they’ve had.
Thankfully these meals have been quite tasty, and I have looked forward to each meal rather than dreaded them.

Taste Test

Diet Chef Week One Review
Some of my Diet Chef meals this week

My favourite breakfast was the chocolate granola (I wonder why) and with the snacks I really enjoyed the sweet and salty popcorn, as well as the paprika biscuits which were very moreish!

For lunch I preferred the pasta pots, which I initially thought were not going to fill me up, but I was surprised in how they actually did.

The dinners have also been rather tasty, with meals such as chilli con carne and mushroom stroganoff being my favourites.

At times I have found it difficult not to have more snacks, especially at night, but I have kept myself busy (no change there) to attempt to combat this, and I’ve upped my green tea drinking!

Any Weight Loss?

Amazingly I have managed to lose 6lbs this week and I really don’t know how this has happened.
I’m very pleased and can only hope that I will lose just as much next week…I shall keep you posted!

I did Diet Chef back at the beginning of the year and it was so much easier having a regimented eating pattern. Good luck with it all 🙂 Thank you for linking to PoCoLo 🙂 x
